Performing one of jazz’s most extraordinary live concerts with a band of the world’s finest musicians

To watch Jonathan on stage balance his identity as a performing artist and former Wall Streeter is like watching a coming-of-age story in concert. He is an extraordinary talent and a remarkable young man. A star in the making.”

With credits including Lincoln Center, SFJAZZ, and the starring role in the 2023 film Goodbye Jonathan’s Soul directed by legendary filmmaker Bob Giraldi, trumpeter Jonathan Dely has captured eyes and ears not only for his musical talent, but for the story that animates his career: turning down a lucrative career on Wall Street to become a musical artist.

With an all-star band of the world’s finest musicians at his back and awards including Finalist in the National Trumpet Competition, Dely performs one of jazz’s most extraordinary live concerts, interweaving musical styles of jazz, classical, rock, and more — a feat that has garnered praise from both critics and concertgoers alike who are enraptured by Dely’s trumpet sound, the versatility of his ensemble, and his live show’s ability to both earn and transcend the label of “jazz.”

Dely is able to transform large theaters into intimate stages, pulling audiences close and reshaping what a live jazz performance can be. Hailed by SFJAZZ as "performing material that undoubtedly appeals to lovers of [Wynton] Marsalis' clarion tone and Chris Botti's wide-ranging eclecticism," Dely is determined to forge his path into an artist truly one of one.

Dely graduated with honors from Williams College before earning his Master’s on scholarship at Manhattan School of Music.
